ADATA unveils SD700 durable external 3D NAND SSD drive

238

ADATA today unveiled the SD700 durable external SSD, featuring a 3D NAND SSD inside a IP68 dust and water proof enclosure with military-grade shock proofing.

The SD700 supports the latest USB 3.1 Gen 1 standard, which allows it to achieve high read/write speed of up to 440 MB/s. The high transfer speeds will ensure users will be able to stream 4K content with no buffering or lag. Offering plug and play convenience, the drive is compatible with Windows, Mac OS, and Android devices to best serve global audiences.

The external drive has been designed and tested to IEC IP68 standards, so it is completely dust-tight to prevent particulate ingress and can operate normally even after submersion in 1.5m of water for a duration of up to 60 minutes. In addition to IEC IP68, the SD700 has been tested to the US Army MIL-STD-810G516.6 shock and drop resistance standard, ensuring a high degree of shock proofing. However, despite being protected against the elements, the drive is quite light at just 100 grams, making it extremely easy to carry around. The robust build and the lack of moving parts makes the SD700 an ideal choice for extreme activities.

The ADATA SD700 comes in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage capacities with a choice of either two-tone black and yellow or all-black color scheme. The company is yet to announce any details regarding pricing or availability.
