Replaceable or should we say upgradeable components are not a strange thing for many computer makers, but for Apple, most components were not upgradeable. So if you wanted more memory or storage, you had to plan that ahead as those components were often soldered.
Well, that is no longer the case, at least not with the 21.5-inch iMac. Thanks to the folks at iFixit, we have learned that most of the components can be replaced, including processor, RAM and storage. We still don’t know the situation with other models, but hopefully the situation is the same. The only bad news is that some components are a bit tougher to remove than on previous models.
