And thats where your heat Problem comes from, plastic hard cover on back = no heat exchange over the aluminium bottom of the the macbook.Who cares about scratches on the bottom Plate.Im Running a 2010 15 I5 and the Fans never even get above 2000-2500 when working with Imovie.
