I have only swam a couple of times with this little Jem, but really enjoy it. The trick is to have the songs you want and nothing else. It is difficult to navigate with the tiny buttons and I look like a fool, standing in the pool tapping the back of my head.
Step 1 plug into computer, it mounts as a drive, like a flash drive would
Step 2 copy MP3 files to it
Step 3 keep it plugged in for a few hours to charge
Step 4 attach to goggles strap, bundle excess headphone wire with the orange straps
Step 5 once powered on hold down arrow keys to adjust volume
Note:sound is much better under water, it is not high quality, but is so nice to have.

The MP3 player is great and definitely waterproof. I use it 5 to 6 days a week while swimming laps in the pool. I did purchase better swimbuds but still saved over $70 compared to any other waterproof MP3 player. I definitely recommend this product.
