Awesome Navigation and Sound,
Edited Segment: I’ve discovered that you CAN shuffle the entire contents of the device – if you’re in Music mode (as opposed to Folder or Category mode). Nowhere in any of the directions does it say this. Still, given there is a way to do it, I’m happy now.
Edited Segment 2: I blame my inability to figure out album art on the fact that I had no idea how assigning album art actually works. You can’t simply include a picture in the folder; album art must be specifically assigned on a per-album basis using something such as Windows Media Player, or something similar that can *formally* assign album art. If you copy your album to the device with formally-assigned album art, then it will use it.
(As a result of getting everything figured out with shuffling and album art, I’ve pushed the rating up to 5 stars.)
I’d also like to point out that the pixel count isn’t exactly impressive, so although it won’t be difficult to navigate the menus, some of the album art may fall short of being easy on the eyes, depending what’s on the cover – you aren’t going to see any fine details, and some covers with a lot going on will not fare well at all.
I included several pictures to show people what the menus look like, which is a pretty pertinent point for me, personally. You end up wondering “Well I see pictures of the main menu everywhere, but what do the sub-menus look like? What’s it going to look like when I navigate?” Here’s your answers. It’s easy to get to whatever folder you want, and you can handily pick an individual song to play. This device lists music in its menus with the file name, but on its main playback screen, it does display the proper title, artist, and album using the metadata, scrolling through the three below the album art before looping back to displaying the song name.
