The engraving I got is annoying, but otherwise in very good condition,
The iPod itself is a really neat device for anyone with a lot of music who wants an easy to use player with high quality sound. Sure you can get a 128GB SD card now and plug it into your smartphone with all your music, but good luck finding a half decent audio player app. Unless you’re lucky you’ll also get that annoying buzzing from the headphone jack.
The main reason I got this model instead of the updated Classic is the ability to run Rockbox on it without issues. This lets you ditch iTunes and turns the proprietary device into a simple, nice, lossless audio player. Another factor was the higher quality DAC over the newer model.
I definitely still recommend an iPod for anyone with a lot of music. If you don’t want to use iTunes, you don’t have to, MusicBee is a great alternative.
